Hey there! In this article you're going to learn how to build event pages to host your webinars/events. This is second part our Webinar Playbook series. Let's jump into it! ⭐️
Guideline #1: Embed your video front and center
The first thing the prospect should see after registering is the video recording of the webinar upfront and center. Make sure it's clearly visible.
When it comes to tools you can use to host your video it can be:
- YouTube as an unlisted video
- Vimeo
- Wistia
Don't sweat the tech, use whatever is easiest. The main point is that this video is embedded on a page and hosted on your site so conversion tracking can be configured easily.
Guideline #2: Have a catchy thumbnail to increase CTR %
Don't assume people are going to watch because they registered, entice people to click play on your recording by having a catchy thumbnail. Can be as simple as:

Here's a few ideas to help you brainstorm thumbnails:
- 2-4 words calling out the viewer to watch or what they'll get
- Ex: Watch this master class! / press play!
- Ex: Scale your LinkedIn Ads pipeline (call to value)
- Leverage arrows or elements emphasizing the click
- Ex: arrow pointing towards the play button
- Ex: text saying "50-minutes of pure LinkedIn value"
- Show a stillframe of a really enticing part of the webinar
- Ex: an insane stat or chart
- Ex: a a quote of results achieved
You can see in the example above your able to see "whats the best LinkedIn Image ad?" -- this is intentional as I picked a specific frame in the video to showcase and create interest.
Guideline #3: Create a clear message match
Make sure attendees who registered are reassured they are in the right place by creating a message with the eyebrow above the event recording.
Guideline #4: Have a clear CTA underneath the recording
The goal is for folks to clickthrough from the event page to your core offer (ex: demo/trial) make it known this next step is available and can be taken.
You could also test embedding a form directly here but if your selling a complex product it's better to send them a dedicated sales page as you can communicate your benefits in more detail.
